But this year, as demonstrations throughout the Middle East have actually risen the rate of oil, the concern of discovering alternative sources of fuel has entered sharp focus.
In an area that has one of the highest carbon footprints on the planet, one company is making the most of the growing pressure to find alternatives to oil. It's established the Middle East's first plan to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving rewarding too, currently their client-list includes McDonald's.
